• Sing through using all the actions.
• Invite a Super Singer to come up and use the STOP and GO stick. For Junior Primary, stop the song completely and then resume singing where you left off. This will teach the children to watch whoever is leading the music. Repeat.
4. I Stand All Amazed (Hymn 193) - review chorus, verse 1. I referred to Janelle's lesson plan on Sugardoodle.net, but ultimately chose to use simplified ASL to teach verse 1 using Kami's Simplified ASL.
• Who can remember what our new song is about? Show Gethsemane pictures again. Do you remember how many times we sing “wonderful” in the chorus?  Do you remember the rhythm of “wonderful”?  Let’s sing the chorus and clap on wonderful and the other two phrases that have that same rhythm.  Sing chorus again, but do NOT sing the words on the clapping.  Repeat.
• Sing verse 1 to the children using these signs. (not the chorus yet)


• Invite the children to sing/sign each of the 4 phrases with you. Briefly explain what the words mean (can just explain overall meaning of each phrase):
• stand - doesn't mean standing up, but to feel strongly
• amazed - surprised

• Challenge them to put the Melody Maps in order.
• Sing through the song again, this time, invite them to pitch lead using the Melody Maps as a guide.

• Who can remember what our new song is about? Show Gethsemane pictures again. Do you remember how many times we sing “wonderful” in the chorus?  Do you remember the rhythm of “wonderful”?  Let’s sing the chorus and clap on wonderful and the other two phrases that have that same rhythm.  Sing chorus again, but do NOT sing the words on the clapping.  Repeat.
• Today we're going to learn verse 1. Verse 1 has other words and phrases with the same bouncy rhythm as "wonderful". I'm going to sing the verse again, listen for and find 4 other words and phrases! ("offers me", "proffers me", "crucified", "bled and died"). Put word strips for each one up on the board in a left side column. Sing the words/phrase and clap the rhythm.
• There are 2 words that mean to give, what are they? (offer, proffer). Sing those parts. What is Jesus giving us? (love, grace - see definition above)
• What word means to be killed on a cross? (crucified). It surprises me that wicked people killed Jesus just because they didn't understand who He was. 
• Our song uses another word that means surprised in the first line, what is it? (amazed). 
• Our song says "that for me a sinner" - what is a sinner? (someone who makes mistakes) Bear testimony that because Jesus loves us and He knew we would make mistakes, He suffered, or paid the price for our sins. Sing that part.
• Sing the song through using the simplified ASL in the video posted above.

3. I Stand All Amazed (Hymn 193) - Chorus only. Thank you to Janelle (found her lesson plan on Sugardoodle) for this amazing lesson plan! I'd found a bunch of ideas from various blogs, but hers incorporated all my favorite elements and were already organized! 
• Ask the pianist to quietly play the chorus in the background. Show children a picture of Christ in Gethsemane and Christ on the cross.  Have them quietly raise their hands if they can tell you about these pictures.  Call on a few children to give their answers.  Ask why Christ did these things for us – because He loves us.  Explain that we are going to learn a hymn from the Hymnbook (show them the Hymnbook).  They may have heard it sung in Sacrament Meeting.  
• Tell them you are going to sing the chorus (the ending part) and you want them to count how many times you sing “wonderful” on their fingers.  Sing and get answers by having the children hold up their fingers with how many times they heard the word.
• Tell them that each time you sang “wonderful” it had a special rhythm.  Clap the rhythm.  It's a bouncy rhythm. Have them clap the bouncy rhythm with you while saying “wonderful”.  (The rhythm is “long – short – long”.)
• Sing the chorus again while everyone claps the correct rhythm on “wonderful”.
• Have them listen for 2 other times in the chorus where you sing the same rhythm (long – short – long), but different words.  Sing and get answers.  (care for me, die for me)
• Have them sing the chorus with you clapping on all the “long-short-long” rhythms.  (wonderful, care for me, die for me, wonderful, wonderful).

• In April we have been invited to sing on Easter Sunday in Sacrament Meeting! Raise your hand if you know why we celebrate Easter. Call on a child to answer - to remember that Christ died and was resurrected so that we too can live again. Show 
• We're only going to learn the first of three verses today. I am going to sing you the first verse. The song asks us a question and then gives us the answer. When you hear the question, stand up. When you hear the answer, sit down. 
• What was the question? (Did Jesus really live again?) What was the answer? (Yes, when the third day came.) Sing the children's responses back to them to familiarize them with the melody.
• After the question and answer, the song tells us 3 things that Jesus DID. Count them on your fingers when you hear them. 
• What were the 3 things? (wakened, left the tomb, called Mary's name) To help us remember the 3 things, let's look at this picture. We can see the Jesus awoke, he left the tomb, and he's talking to Mary.
• Sing the song through once.

3. Action Song: Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam (60) - last week we taught the Sunbeams how to sit on their chairs while singing and only jump up on "beam". Remind them of this. You can invite a few singers to bring their chairs to the front to demonstrate if you'd like.

Point to each square and ask the children what each one stood for (1 - faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, 2 - repentance, 3 - baptism by immersion, 4 - laying on of hands for the Gift of the Holy Ghost). Invite the children to sing with you.
2. I Will Follow God's Plan: 
• Last week we learned the whole song! Let's sing through it and see how much we remember. 
• To help us practice this song, I have a fun activity for us:
• In “I Will Follow God’s Plan” the following words are repeated:
  My – 5 (4 at the beginning and one time at the very end)
  Life – 3
  Will – 5
  Home – 2
  Earth – 2
  I – 5
• For this activity you will need to prepare ahead of time 6 strips of paper (all the same color) with the repeating words listed above.  One word per strip of paper.  On another six strips of paper (all the same color, but different from the repeated word strips color) write actions.  The actions can be whatever you’d like.  Some suggestions:  clap, turn around, tap your head, jump, slap your thighs, raise arms quickly up & down, etc.
• You will have two children come up to the front and one child will pick a strip from the first pile and the second child will pick one from the other pile.  (Piles should be face down so they can’t see the words or actions.)  Post the wordstrips on the board next to each other.  Let’s says the strips say “life” and “jump”.  Now, you sing through the song and everytime you sing the word “life” everyone has to “jump”! 
• Now, find two more super singers, have them pick two more strips.  Then add that to the original ones.  So, if they picked “I” and “clap”.  You would sing again and jump every time you sang “life” and ALSO you would clap every time you sang “I”. 
• Keep adding words and actions until they have all been picked!  By the end everyone will be laughing and giggling and will know the words!

• Last week we started learning our new program song. I'm going to sing the 1st half of it to you, if you know the words sing with me. Every time you hear or sing the word "life", clap! Let's practice how to do that before we sing (say "life", "lips", "light", "life", "life" - just to see if they're listening). 
• This time, I need your help. I can't remember the words and I need some signs/actions to help me. Sing "My life is a _____" - what is that word? (gift) What action can we use for gift? (if they need an idea, use the SIGN) Sing the phrase again with the movement. Sing "My life has a _____" - what is that word? (plan) I have a sign for this one: PLAN. Sing phrase with sign. Sing first 2 phrases together. Sing "My life has a purpose in heav'n it began". That one is tricky! How about we point out for "purpose" (something to do) and then point up for "heav'n". Sing phrase with movement. Sing all 3 phrases together.
• If time, continue the process using the following signs/actions:

• Let's quickly review the first half of our new song. Let's clap every time we sing "life" and stand up/sit down on the rhyming words. 
• Let's sing it one more time, but this time we're not going to clap and stand up - if you think you know all the words I want you to look up at the ceiling while you are singing it. If you need a bit of help, watch me. 
3. Teach 2nd Half of song: 
• The first half of the song talks about how we chose to come to earth and follow God’s light (or plan) that He has for us.  The 2^nd half of the song will teach us HOW to follow God’s plan and what happens when we do.
• I’m going to sing the 2^nd half and I want you to listen for the word “will”.  How many times do I sing it? (5) 
• What word came before the word “will”?  (I).  I’m going to sing it again and I want you to stand up the first time I sing “I will”, then sit down the next time I sing “I will”, then stand up the next time, etc. Sing.
• Listen this time for what we need to hold fast to.  Sing again and get answers (word and his love).  What is his “word”?  (scriptures, prophets).  What does it mean to hold to “his love”?  How do you know God loves you?
• Let’s sing it again and this you time you sing all the “I wills”.  Listen for the 3 things it says we will do after we hold to his word and his love.  Sing and get answers (work, pray, walk in his way).  (Sing without the piano or just with the piano playing the melody so you can slow down on the parts the kids sing). 
• Let’s see if you can tell me all the things that the songs says we will do.  (I will follow God’s plan, will work, will pray, will always walk in his way).  Great!  Now, the end of the song tells us what will happen if we do all those things?  Do you remember what the song says?   Listen for the answer. Sing just the ending “then I will be happy on earth and in my home above.”   If you keep the commandments will you be happy on earth?  Why?  Does that mean you won’t have anything bad happen to you?  What is your home above? 
• Share Mosiah 2:41.  Explain and share brief testimony of following God & Jesus.

2. I Will Follow God's Plan - Teach 1st half of song, from the beginning until “And seek for God’s light to direct me from birth.” (10 min)
• Share Abraham 3:22-25 with the children (you may need to read/summarize for Jr.). Help them understand what the verses mean. Tell them we are going to learn a new song called “I will Follow God’s Plan”. The first part of this song goes along with these verses in Abraham.
• I’m going to sing a few lines and I want you to listen for how many times I sing “life”. Sing and get answers (3).
• When we lived with Heavenly Father and Jesus in our premortal life, where we excited to come down to earth? Yes we were! So, every time we sing the word “life” let’s clap. Sing again and clap on “life”.
• Now, listen for how many times I sing “my”. Sing again (continue to clap on “life”). Get answers (4).
• The scriptures teach us that Heavenly Father has a plan for us. Do you know what this plan is called? (plan of salvation, plan of happiness, etc).
• I’ll sing the first part again – sing any of the words you know—this time listen for the word that rhymes with “plan”. Sing again and get answers (began). So, in the song we learn that our life has a purpose and it all “began” in heav’n—just like the scripture we read in Abraham says.
• Can you remember in the song what it says your choice was? (Sing if necessary to get the answer – “to come to earth”). Now listen for the word that rhymes with “earth”. Sing again and get answer (birth).
• So, what did we choose? (To come to earth and follow God’s light or commandments). That’s exactly what the scripture in Abraham taught us too!
• Now, that you know this first part of the song pretty well I’m going to challenge you. I will sing all the words except the rhyming words. When I point to you to get to sing the rhyming word. Sing again, slowing down at the rhyming word and letting the children sing those words. (If you can, sing without the piano. You can control the tempo more and it’s more of a challenge for the children to remember the words without the melody leading them into it).
• Now here’s an extra hard challenge. I want you to sing “my life” and all the rhyming words! How many times you do sing “my life” (3). Ok, let’s try it again.
• I bet you could sing all the words now! Let’s try! Sing the whole first part together.
3. Finish up last week's Valentine's Activity: Name that Primary Song about Love (thank you Camille for preparing this ENTIRE lesson for me! I'll also use her Jr. vs Sr. Primary adjustments)
4. For the last 2 minutes (if there is any time left): Tell the children: To get us ready for our Gospel Instruction we are going to sing a reverent song - that means a quiet song that helps us think about Jesus. Using the flipchart sing: Father, I Will Reverent Be. Sing again when the classes come in for Closing Exercises.

Our Heavenly Father loves us so much that He created a plan by which we can return to live with Him. (I Will Follow God's Plan).

1. Articles of Faith Songs: 1 and 3. Sing the First Article of Faith (the children know this one). Review from last week: show the children the picture of the Third Article of Faith and ask them to tell you about it - keep it simple: This is a picture of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. It was there He atoned, or paid for, our sins. Because of His Atonement, if we choose the right and repent when we don't, we can return to live with our Heavenly Father and Savior. Have the pianist play through the song and sing the song to them (words will be written on the blackboard). Invite the kids to sing along with you. Sing again, but this time erase a few of the words on the board (or invite a reverent child to do so).
2. Sing I Will Follow God's Plan using the flipchart and assess how well the children know it (we learned it last year). Tell the children we'll work on it more next week.
3. Valentine's Activity: Name that Primary Song about Love (thank you Camille for preparing this ENTIRE lesson for me! I'll also use her Jr. vs Sr. Primary adjustments)
4. For the last 2 minutes: Tell the children: To get us ready for our Gospel Instruction we are going to sing a reverent song - that means a quiet song that helps us think about Jesus. Using the flipchart sing: Father, I Will Reverent Be. Sing again when the classes come in for Closing Exercises.

Singing Time:

1. Articles of Faith Songs: 2 and 3. Sing through the Second Article of Faith (kids have been working on it). The Third Article of Faith is a new song. 2. Tell the children that this month we celebrate Valentine's Day. We'll be doing a Valentine's game to help us remember and practice some of our favorite songs.
3. Valentine's Game:
• Invite 2 reverent children to the front. Give each child one dice to roll. Explain that the child with the highest number will get to choose a pair of hearts - one heart is the song we will sing and the other heart is how we will sing it. The child with the lowest number will get to help the music leader in the front! (If the children are uncomfortable helping you, they can sit down - or switch the roles as necessary).
• Child choose a pair of hearts, sing the song using the way described. Use your judgment - if the kids are getting to rowdy, tell them they won't be able to sing the songs in fun ways, just sing them through while sitting down reverently.
• Repeat with as many children as you can for 15 minutes.

• Drawing figure 8's in the air
• Slow motion (sing the song extra slow) - be sure to only use this one on a song that is usually fast (I'll stack the deck)
• Deep voices like your dads and grandpas
• Patting your head (and add rubbing your stomach for those that want a challenge)
